Traditionally measures such as Cavity Wall Insulation and External Wall Insulation have been assessed as ‘systems’ with a Technical Approval issued by an independent body confirming that the system is fit for purpose and can contribute to satisfying the relevant requirements of the Building Regulations. Conversely, other measures comprise products usually simply covered by the manufacturers declaration of performance.
Recognising the higher level of assurance provided by systems but the limited number of systems to support underfloor, Room in Roof, Internal Wall and Loft insulation, in agreement with TrustMark, The IAA CS have partnered with Kiwa Building Products to provide an Agrément approvals process for Non-Standard Systems.
Non-Standard Systems comprise a range of prescribed components deployed and assessed as a system. The IAA are acting as the surveillance and audit body with Kiwa as the Agrément issue authority for Non-Standard Systems.

Net Zero 2050
The Government have declared a climate crisis and are committed to Net Zero carbon emissions by 2050 - domestic dwellings account for 17-19% of carbon emissions, only by tackling the energy efficiency of building fabric as a part of deep retrofit will we deliver Net Zero 2050.
Too often installer have suffered from the reputation of those lesser organisations who have served to profit from the industry whilst seeking lowest cost and lowest compliance options for delivery. The IAA is committed to building on the current first-class installers who already use CIGAs extensive offering and provide these services across the insulation industry as a whole.
The IAA are commited to net zero and the future so much so we have created our own net zero pledge, sign up to The IAAs net zero pledge here: www.theiaa.co.uk/net-zero-2050/.
