Retrofit Assessor & Coordinator
 
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £38,000 per year
Schedule: Monday to Friday
Location/s: Field Based

Responsibilities:
  • Delivering a PAS 2035 Compliant Assessor and RC Coordinator Service
  • Completing compliance checks of project documentation and evidence for PAS 2035 projects
  • Liaising with installation teams and clients as necessary 
Experience:
  • Experience of working in, or understanding of, the ECO/GHGVS sectors
  • Knowledge and understanding of PAS 2030/ PAS 2035
  • Construction industry experience such as working as a Contractor, Surveyor, Site Manager/ Agent or Clerk of Works etc
  • A good understanding of the principles of Building Physics as relating to the fabric of existing buildings and the potential consequences of retrofit energy efficiency measures.
  • A good understanding of a range of building services systems - particularly heating, insulation and ventilation systems
  • Experience in carrying out retrofit works in a domestic setting and experience of working with domestic refurbishment clients
  • Ability to review, analyse and benchmark energy performance and identify potential technical solutions
  • Previous quality assurance or compliance background
  • Awareness of commissioning in mechanical and electrical systems (ventilation and heat)
  • Good awareness of Health and Safety on-site and be willing and able to raise concerns where appropriate
  • Experience of on-site monitoring tools and their appropriate use, e.g.
    • Thermal imaging
    • Air pressure tests
    • Moisture meters
    • Flow and pressure meters for ventilation systems
  • Knowledge of project risk management in construction in relation to control of time of directly related and consequential damages 
Other Requirements:
  • To undergo training and development in line with the needs of the business
  • To assist with other duties within the scope and nature of position
  • To assist in other areas of the business when required i.e. complaints, surveillance, auditing
Skills/Attributes:
  • An eye for detail and be analytical in approach, whilst being able to make commercial decisions
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise own workload and meet specified deadlines
  • Good understanding and capability with MSOffice office suite ideally with knowledge of industry software
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with key clients and senior management, householders, contractors, planners, architects, engineers, building control officers etc
  • Understanding of when to seek clarification from other colleagues or experts 
Qualifications:
  • Level 5 Diploma in Domestic Retrofit Coordination and Risk Management
  • DEA qualified - Experience in Domestic Energy Efficiency

Building Repair Maintenance Technician      


Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £30,000 - £32,000 per year
Schedule: Monday to Friday
Location/s: West Midlands

Role purpose:
Building Repair Maintenance Technicians are responsible for the removal and safe disposal of cavity waste materials, along with general building/remediation skills such as:
  • Cavity clearance
  • Bricklaying
  • Plastering
  • Decoration
  • Carpentry skills
Responsibilities to include:
  • To carry out routine cavity clearance works and remediation with customer satisfaction in mind and clear and concise work details and procedures discussed and agreed prior to commencement
  • Communicate with the homeowner throughout the process
  • Communicate with Remediation Supervisor and Head of Technical Development to confirm works
  • Adhere to good health and safety practice
  • Provide a summary of works in progress 
  • Work as a member of The IAA team to develop a high quality and efficient service
Administration:
  • Carry out planning with the Supervisor, where necessary and maintain an effective schedule of planned works
  • Comply with The IAAs Best Practice Guides
  • Complete the scope of remediation against the customer journey as tasked and document remediation works
Improvements and Change:
  • Follow all Procedures and processes relevant to own role. Identify when changes and updates are required, raising these promptly with line manager
  • When required, lead and take responsibility for projects and making change happen, overcome barriers and ensure objectives are achieved
  • Develop and write work instructions and procedure when required, monitoring works and proposing improvement measures where appropriate
Communication/Relationships:
  • Communicate and work closely with managers and colleagues, building a team which supports each other’s and the organisations goals
  • Act as mentor and trainer to colleagues when required and make suggestions to develop products and customer service
  • Keep up to date with new development and changes in the company
  • Support company goals and business objectives
Knowledge, Skills and experience (desired):
General building skills:
  • Bricklayer/Plasterer/carpentry/decoration
Excellent communications and presentation skills:
  • Possess good interpersonal skills 
  • Have good attention to detail, documentation and administrative skills
  • Demonstrate good IT skills 
  • Possess the ability to work unsupervised

Quality & Compliance Inspector
 
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

The Quality and Compliance Inspector is responsible for Carrying out forensic investigation and surveillance of the following measures:
  • Cavity wall insulation
  • Loft Insulation
  • Solid Wall measures
  • Room in Roof Insulation
  • Underfloor Insulation
  • Park Homes Insulation 
In accordance with The IAA and CIGAs Best Practice Guidance and completing necessary surveillance of CWISC, Certification scheme members and Trustmark Extension to ensure continued compliance in line with PAS2030 requirements as detailed in PAS2031 including Pre, Post and During installation inspections to evidence compliance with relevant Technical Approvals.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Assist in timely investigation of complaints and prepare detailed reports of findings, conclusion and resolution.
  • Assist Head of Customer Operations and other Technical Inspector(s) in resolving complaints following investigation and reports.
  • Communicate with customers in resolution of complaints.
  • Carry out routine Quality Inspections of completed work.
  • Following telephone queries to the head office provide technical assistance to the cavity wall insulation industry and the general public.
  • Operate in a manner that is consistent with good Health and Safety practice and does not present hazards to others.
  • Maintain awareness of relevant regulations and provide briefing notes as appropriate.
  • Monitor and evaluate customer service standards and complaint KPI’s.
  • Oversight and audit of Installer and System Designer Assessment activities.
  • Carry out quality inspection to comply with the required surveillance rates in line with Performance Objectives and Department KPIs
  • Carry out customer guarantee complaint investigations
  • Work as a member of The IAA team to develop The IAA offer for the industry 
Administration:
  • Carry out planning, where necessary and maintain an effective diary, in conjunction with the central tasking team to maximise productivity.
  • Carry out effective surveillance of installers in accordance with department specified process
  • Confirm compliance with building suitability assessment/installations/ post installation quality inspections.
  • Complete membership review documents maintaining a record of required follow up actions as necessary
  • Complete customer compliant investigation reports against the customer journey as tasked

  • Have good attention to detail, documentation and administrative skills
  • Demonstrate good IT skills and ability to analyse data and prepare reports
  • Possess the ability to work unsupervised
  • In depth knowledge of the CWI, Loft, Solid Wall Room in Roof, Underfloor and Park Homes Installation industry, technical requirements and standards, including knowledge of allied insulation systems and techniques.
  • Demonstrate Competent in line with current MTC-Minimum Technical Competence
  • Work towards and obtain in depth Knowledge of further extended role measures, as and when required.
  • Substantial track record in developing and delivering training programmes
  • Familiarity with Health & Safety issues
  • Familiarity with PAS 2030, PAS2031 and PAS2035
  • Experience of carrying out internal and External Membership audits
  • Verifier qualification
  • NVQ CWI
  • CSCS card
  • Hold or be working towards internal audit qualification
  • Clean driving license
