Who are TrustMark?
TrustMark is the ‘Government Endorsed Quality Scheme’ covering work a homeowner chooses to have carried out in their home. When a homeowner uses a TrustMark Registered business, they know they are engaging an organisation that has been thoroughly vetted to meet required standards, and who is committed to good customer service, technical competence and trading practices.
Following the ‘Each Home Counts’ review, the TrustMark scheme was chosen as the route to provide homeowners with reassurance and protection from rogue traders and is the only Government endorsed scheme for domestic trades.

What are the criteria for TrustMark Registration?
The TrustMark Scheme operates as an extension to The IAA PAS Certification, so it is only available to companies that are also applying for/or are already registered to The IAAs PAS Certification scheme.
A separate application form is applicable due to the additional requirements, assessment, registration and annual audit process. This will incur a fee of £150 ex.VAT to be paid annually and the initial and routine audits are integrated with Certification surveillance to avoid duplication of visits. Did you know that your membership and compliance with the IAA Best Practice can potentially reduce the inherent risk of insulation measures by one? PAS 2035-2019 reduction of inherent technical risk scores of energy efficiency measures using TrustMark recognised Industry Quality Assurance Schemes.
PAS 2035-2019 Annex B Clause B.2 introduces a mechanism that permits the reduction of inherent technical risk scores for a measure(s) where a closely defined criteria is met. Where the intended Retrofit Installer operates under an ‘industry quality assurance scheme’ (that has the features as listed in the relevant section of the PAS) a reduction of the inherent technical risk scores by one for the measure(s) covered by that scheme is permitted. Please see the applicable sections of PAS 2035-2019 on the TrustMark website for further information.
TrustMark work closely with Retrofit Coordinator Scheme Providers and the wider interested parties. They have agreed that a consistent approach must be in place so that a TrustMark Registered Retrofit Coordinator, considering this provision of the PAS works to a common consistent standard. TrustMark currently recognise 2 organisations that are delivering such industry quality assurance schemes as permitted by PAS 2035-2019 one of which is the IAA guarantee under the quality assurance framework. Retrofit Coordinators can recognise this scheme when deciding whether a valid reduction by one can be made to inherent technical risk score for the respective measure(s) within a project.

How do I apply?
The simple application process involves 5 main stages:
- Complete the application form and declarations and submit to The IAA with supporting documents and payment
- Initial assessment of your application by The IAA who will advise if anything is missing or the key requirements are not met
- Once the application is complete an initial HQ assessment and site surveillance is scheduled
- Depending on the outcome you will be advised whether improvement actions are required, or whether your application was successfully registered
- Once successful you can start promoting your registration and use the TrustMark branding
